MORE DETAILS >

Tayrona National Natural Park is one of Colombia’s most treasured protected areas, renowned not only for its breathtaking landscapes but also for its rich cultural heritage. Long before the arrival of the Spanish, this region was home to the Tairona civilization, an advanced Indigenous society that thrived in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta between the 1st and 16th centuries.

The Tairona people built sophisticated stone villages, roads, terraces, and irrigation systems throughout the mountains. They were skilled artisans, traders, and farmers, living in harmony with the surrounding rainforest and Caribbean coastline.

Today, Tayrona is one of the country’s most visited national parks, attracting travelers from around the world who come to experience its unique blend of history, wildlife, and natural beauty. Every trail, beach, and forest tells the story of an ancient civilization and the Indigenous communities who continue to protect this sacred land for future generations.

Along the way, you’ll experience the park’s incredible biodiversity, where lush tropical rainforest meets the Caribbean coastline.
